Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Madrid - Luxor - Nile Cruise - Dinner
We depart from Madrid on a special flight to Luxor. Upon arrival we will transfer directly to the boat and enjoy a picnic dinner in the cabin. Overnight on board the cruise.
Day 2 - Luxor - Esna - Edfu - Nile Cruise - Full Board
After breakfast, our first stop will take us to the burial place of the famous Valley of the Kings and the Necropolis of Thebes, where the famous tomb of Tutankhamun is located. Later, we will visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, dedicated to the only woman who reigned in Egypt and, as a curiosity, left herself a beard to look like a pharaoh. Then, we will see the Deir El Bahari temple and the impressive Colossi of Memnon. We continue the tour and arrive at the second most visited place by tourists in Egypt, the religious complex of Karnak and its temples, which is one of the places of greatest historical value in Egypt. This is due to the way they were built, starting with the central sanctuary and then the outer areas. Because the temple of Luxor is dedicated to the God Amun-Ra, god of creation and the sun, many pharaohs expanded the temple with new monuments to honor the main god of the Egyptian pantheon. Finally we will return to the boat to head to Esna. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise.
Day 3 - Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan - Nile Cruise - Full Board
We will have breakfast and start the day with a visit to the temple of Edfu dedicated to the God Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in the country. This is the second largest temple in Egypt, only surpassed by the temple of Amun-Ra in Karnak. Later we continue sailing to reach the temple of Kom Ombo, which worships Sobek, a god with a crocodile head and human body. Located on the banks of the Nile. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise.
Day 4 - Aswan - Nile Cruise - Full Board
We arrive in Aswan in the early morning, with the possibility of booking the optional visit to the temples of Abu Simbel, a complex made up of 2 temples, one dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertari, his first and favorite wife. Later, we will be able to enjoy a ride on an Egyptian sailboat called a felucca to end the day. Lunch and dinner on board the cruise.
Day 5 - Aswan - Cairo - Domestic Flight - Breakfast and Lunch
We will have breakfast and proceed to check out. Next, we will visit the temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, goddess of love and considered one of the most beautiful and best-preserved temples in the country. It is located on a small island. After this unmissable visit we will be transferred to Aswan airport to take the flight to Cairo and we will transfer to the hotel. Lunch may be on the boat or picnic type, depending on the scheduled flight time.
Day 6 - Cairo - Pyramids of Giza - Accommodation and Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, the first scheduled visit is the enclosure of the Pyramids of Cheops, Kefren and Mykerinos, the country's main tourist attraction and one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. After the visit to the pyramids we will approach the famous Sphinx created by Pharaoh Kefren. It is a sculpture with a lion's body and human head, whose task was to guard the funerary enclosure of the pyramids as well as being a symbol of royalty. Once the visit to the Giza funerary complex is finished, end of the excursion and return to the hotel. Possibility of booking the optional excursion to the new Grand Museum (GEM).
