General Description
A comprehensive 8-day tour across Turkey covering Istanbul, Ankara, Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, Ephesus, and Bursa. The itinerary includes visits to iconic historical and natural landmarks like Goreme Valley, the Pamukkale travertines, the Spice Bazaar, and a Bosphorus cruise with transfers and meals provided.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: DESTINATION – ISTANBUL
Arrival in Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2: ISTANBUL – ANKARA – CAPPADOCIA (BREAKFAST – LUNCH – DINNER) (SUNDAY – THURSDAY)
Breakfast and morning departure to Ankara, passing through the Bolu Mountains. In Ankara, visit the Mausoleum of Atatürk. Inaugurated in 1953, this mausoleum is dedicated to the founder of modern Turkey, Atatürk. It is a marble structure with 40-ton columns, reached by a long avenue lined with lions on both sides, ending in a vast square. Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by departure towards Cappadocia. Along the way, we will also visit Salt Lake. Arrival in Cappadocia, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: CAPPADOCIA (BREAKFAST – LUNCH – DINNER)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit this fascinating region, famous for its unique landscape, formed by lava erupted from Mount Erciyes and Mount Hasan approximately 3 million years ago.Visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex featuring churches carved into the rock and decorated with beautiful frescoes. Visit the valleys of Avcilar and Güvercinlik, which offer spectacular scenery and the famous Fairy Chimneys. Lunch during the tour at a local restaurant.Continue with a visit to Paşabağı Valley, also known as Çavuşin. During the excursion, we will have the opportunity to visit traditional workshops specializing in carpets, onyx and turquoise, where quality products can be found at good prices.Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cappadocia. During your stay in Cappadocia, you will have the opportunity to optionally attend a traditional folk dance show in a typical cave, with unlimited local beverages, and to take an optional hot-air balloon excursion at sunrise.
Day 4: CAPPADOCIA – KONYA – PAMUKKALE (BREAKFAST – LUNCH – DINNER)
Breakfast and departure for Pamukkale. On the way, we will cross the Konya Plain and visit a caravanserai, an ancient type of building that was established along the main routes used by caravans undertaking long journeys for trade, pilgrimage or military purposes.Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Pamukkale, a place where the high concentration of calcium in its waters has created one of the most spectacular natural formations in the world.Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. If time permits, free time at the hotel to enjoy the hotel's thermal baths.
Day 5: PAMUKKALE – EPHESUS – IZMIR AREA (BREAKFAST – LUNCH – DINNER)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Hierapolis, an ancient Hellenistic city that is now in ruins.Visit the famous Cotton Castle (Pamukkale), a natural wonder consisting of huge white cascades, stalactites and natural pools formed over the centuries by the flow of mineral-rich thermal waters.Transfer by bus to Selçuk, the center of Ephesus. Excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in Asia Minor. During the 1st and 2nd centuries, it had a population of approximately 250,000 inhabitants and monopolized the wealth of the Middle East.Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the Temple of Hadrian, Roman Baths, Library, Odeon, Theatre, and other important sites. Continue with a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary. In the afternoon, visit a leather workshop where we can see the famous leather products of the Aegean region.Transfer by bus to the Izmir area. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in the Izmir area.
Day 6: IZMIR AREA – BURSA – ISTANBUL (BREAKFAST)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by bus to Bursa.Arrival in Bursa and visit the Green Mosque (Yeşil Camii), built in 1419 by Mehmet I Çelebi. Next to the mosque, we will find the Green Mausoleum, which is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Bursa.Transfer by bus to Istanbul. Overnight stay at the hotel in Istanbul.
Day 7: ISTANBUL (BREAKFAST)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to visit the Rüstem Pasha Mosque.Next, we will enjoy one of the most famous activities in Istanbul: a boat cruise along the Bosphorus, the strait that separates Europe and Asia. During the cruise, we will admire the Sultans' palaces, traditional wooden houses and enjoy Istanbul's history from a different perspective.We will finish the day with one of Istanbul's highlights, the Spice Bazaar, established by the Ottomans five centuries ago and still in use today.Free time. End of the visit at the Egyptian Bazaar.
Day 8: ISTANBUL – CITY OF ORIGIN (BREAKFAST)
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport.End of services.
